I know nothing about suits. Where do I start?
You don't need to know about lapels or microns. That's our job. We start with a chat about your wedding vibe-beach, church, winery? We guide you from there.
What is the difference between Bespoke, Made-to-Measure, and Off-the-Rack?
Off-the-Rack is buying a house. MTM is buying a house and moving the walls. Bespoke is drawing the blueprints from scratch. MTM is the sweet spot for weddings-great fit, better price.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Ideally 3-4 months. We can do 4-6 weeks for urgent orders (Express Fee applies), but more time means more stress-free fittings.
Why should I choose a 3-piece suit?
Versatility and Impact.
- It distinguishes you from the groomsmen.
- It keeps you looking formal when the jacket comes off for dancing.
- It creates a V-shape that broadens shoulders and slims the waist.
Can I wear R.M. Williams boots with my 3-piece suit?
Yes, this is an Australian classic. However, let us know before we measure your trousers. Boots sit higher on the ankle than shoes, so we need to adjust the hem width and length to prevent bunching.
Should my vest/waistcoat match my suit/jacket?
Usually, yes. A matching vest elongates the body. However, a contrasting vest (e.g., buff or dove grey with a charcoal suit) creates a classic 'Morning Suit' feel that is very traditional and stylish.
I’m getting married in summer. Won’t a 3-piece be too hot?
Not if you choose the right fabric. We recommend a High-Twist Wool (Fresco) or Linen blend. These open weaves let the breeze through. We can also 'half-line' the jacket to reduce heat. The vest allows you to take the jacket off sooner while staying smart.
How long should my jacket be?
It should cover the curvature of the seat (your backside). Too short (the 'Donald Duck' effect) makes your hips look wide. A proper length balances your torso and legs.
Who pays for the groomsmen's suits?
There are three common approaches: 1. You pay all (Generous). 2. You pay a subsidy (e.g., 50%) or buy the accessories. 3. They pay for their own suits (Common, provided the suit is reusable for their own work/events). We offer Group Packages to lower the cost for everyone.
My groomsmen are all different sizes. Will they look the same?
Yes. That is the beauty of custom tailoring. Whether your Best Man is a rugby prop or a marathon runner, the design (fabric, lapel, buttons) remains identical, but the cut is adapted to flatter their specific body shape.
One groomsman lives overseas How do we measure him?
Download our 'Remote Measurement Guide' He should take this to a local tailor to get measured We then review the numbers to check for any inconsistencies before cutting cloth
Why should I buy instead of hire?
- Cost per wear A hire suit is 300 wasted A custom suit is an asset you keep.
- Plus a hire suit can't be altered it will never fit perfectly in photos.
- Your wedding photos last forever the fit should be timeless.
Why does my rental suit feel like plastic?
Rentals are made of polyester to survive 50 wears Polyester traps heat Our recommend fabric option to make suits are wool satin or natural blends which breathe like a second skin.
